THE WATERWAY JOURNAL

Sharing your story

A few things to know before you send us your journey.

  1. Tell a real story from Ireland’s inland waterways in your own words. A short photo story is welcome too; write at least 60 words.
  2. Include a cover photo and up to 11 more photographs. Add a caption, a useful image description and a photographer credit to each one.
  3. Submit only text and photographs you own or have permission to publish. Get permission from identifiable people in your photographs.
  4. Mention any sponsorship, free stay or other support for the trip. We show that disclosure with the story.
  5. An editor checks every submission. We may ask for changes or decline a story; nothing goes public before approval.
  6. Your public name and biography appear with the story. Your email stays private and is used for sign-in and submission updates.
  7. Published edits are reviewed again. Ask for removal from My stories or use the site contact details.
  8. Unsaved text stays in this tab. Saved drafts are private, and you can delete one until you send it. Abandoned drafts are removed after 180 days; rejected or removed stories and unused photographs are cleaned up after 30 days.
