Hello and welcome to the Jetty Hop forum, a place for everyone who boats on Ireland's lakes, rivers and canals: owners, hire crews, first-timers and the people who run the marinas.

What goes where

  • Questions & advice: ask anything about boating on Irish waters. When a reply answers your question, mark it as the solution.
  • Photos & trip reports: share your days on the water, with up to 10 photos a post.
  • Routes & places: harbours, locks, moorings and how to get between them.
  • Hire boats & first-timers: planning your first week on a cruiser? Start here.
  • Boat maintenance, Fishing & wildlife, Meetups & shared trips, and the Harbour bar for everything else.

A few handy things

  • Add the waterway and place to a discussion and it also shows on the map (the Discussions layer) and on that stop's page.
  • React to posts that helped you, and follow a waterway or a category to hear about new discussions there.
  • Turn on alerts on your phone in your account settings and you'll get a notification when someone replies.

Please remember

Jetty Hop is a travel guide, not a navigation aid. Always use official charts, navigation marks and Waterways Ireland marine notices, and check the weather before you cast off.

See you on the water!
