About Limerick

Limerick is where the inland Shannon ends and its estuary begins. Boats moor in the city centre at the pontoons below the 18th-century Custom House, tucked in beside Arthur’s Quay and long regarded as the safest berths in town. The usual Shannon limit on stays applies, and there is no service block or fuel, so arrive with full tanks. The Custom House holds the Hunt Museum, an art and antiquities collection with pieces by Picasso, Renoir and Jack B. Yeats. Arthur’s Quay Park next door is the start of the 3.6 km Three Bridges walk along both banks, and the Arthur’s Quay shopping centre has a supermarket. The Milk Market, trading since 1852, opens under its great canopy at weekends. For a different view of the city, Nevsail runs kayak and paddleboard tours from the Hunt Museum.
