About Ballinamore Lock

Ballinamore Lock lies a couple of hundred metres below the marina, so boats leaving town towards the Erne meet it almost at once, and boats coming from Ballyconnell pass through it just before they tie up. It is one of the eight rebuilt locks of the eastern side, new concrete chambers faced with the stone of their predecessors. Between here and the moorings at Ballyconnell come three more locks: Ardrum, Aghoo and Skelan. Le Boat allows about four hours for that run, which includes the open water of Garadice Lough.
