Lough Neagh: each harbour sets its own stay limit and fee — ask first

Lough Neagh’s harbours and marinas are run by the councils and clubs around the lough, and each sets its own stay limit and fees: ask the harbour before you stay. (The Lower Bann’s public moorings have no time limit.) Lower Bann and Lough Neagh boater information from Waterways Ireland

About Ardboe Battery Harbour

The Battery is a working harbour in the townland of Ardean on the western shore, near Ardboe, used by Lough Neagh's fishermen as well as by visiting yachts and motor boats, and it gives the public access to the lough. Lough Neagh Partnership paid for its extension, and Lough Neagh Rescue has kept a lifeboat here since 1991, in a boathouse opened in 2001. Nearby stands Ardboe Cross, a sandstone high cross of the tenth century and perhaps the first raised in Ulster: over 5.5 m tall, it is carved with 22 panels of Old and New Testament scenes. It marks the site of an abbey said to have been founded by Saint Colman in 590, and the ruins of a 16th-century church stand beside it. We have no details of depths or visitor berths, so ask locally before relying on a space.
