About Haughton’s Shore
Haughton’s Shore lies on the north-east side of Garadice Lough, roughly halfway by water between Ballinamore and Ballyconnell. Garadice covers almost 4 km² and is up to 20 m deep, with three islands, one of them called Church Island. The harbour has a service block with toilets, showers and laundry, a pump-out and a slipway, but no shore power, so it suits crews who want a quiet night on the lake rather than a town. There is no village here, so bring supplies from Ballinamore. Garadice is a known coarse-angling lake for roach, bream and tench. Eastwards the route threads Ballymagauran, Derrycassan and Coologe loughs to Skelan Lock, about 5.5 km away.
