About Lakeside Marina

Lakeside Marina lies on the Westmeath side of Lough Ree's sheltered inner lakes, near Ballykeeran on the road from Athlone to Glasson. The same family has run it since 1997, and it is as much a boatyard as a marina. It can lift boats of up to 60 ft or 50 tonnes, take craft of up to 120 ft into its own dry dock and put boats of up to 70 ft under cover, with its own engineers for mechanical, electrical, fibreglass and steel work. Its tug handles rescue and salvage anywhere on the Shannon. The berths are new, each with metered power and its own water supply. The chandlery on site, which calls itself the biggest marine store in the midlands, opens Tuesday to Saturday. The website does not mention visitor berths, so phone before you come.
