About Castlelough
Castlelough is a stretch of the Tipperary shore near Portroe, between Garrykennedy and Killaloe. Tipperary County Council lists the Castlelough amenity among its accessible outdoor recreation sites, Tipperary Tourism's visitor map marks a beach here, and Loop 2 of the North Tipperary Cycle Network drops down to Castlelough before running partly off-road to Garrykennedy. Waterways Ireland lists toilets and showers at Castlelough, but no pump-out, shore power or slipway. We have not yet confirmed a harbour or jetty where a cruiser can come alongside, so treat it as a daytime stop, check the shore on arrival and keep clear of any private moorings. For the night, Garrykennedy, a short run to the north-east, has full services, pubs and food.
