About Dromaan Harbour

Dromaan Harbour is a small, very sheltered harbour on the Clare shore south of Williamstown, owned by Clare County Council. Boats lie against the harbour wall or in a row of concrete finger berths, and since 2017 there has been a three-unit service block with a holding tank, a canoe rack and trail signs, added when the Lough Derg Blueway was being set up. Waterways Ireland lists toilets and showers here but no pump-out, shore power or slipway, so plan to empty your holding tank elsewhere. It is a quiet, rural stop. The village of Whitegate, a trailhead of the East Clare Way with The Half Barrell pub, is a couple of miles inland, and Dromineer lies straight across the lake. In 2026 the IWAI's Lough Derg Rally made Dromaan one of its stops.
