About Dromineer

Dromineer sits on the Tipperary shore where the Nenagh River enters the lake, and boaters have three options. The public marina in the village has floating jetties, shore power, pump-out and a public slipway, and in 2026 Tipperary County Council opened a new building beside it with accessible toilets, showers and changing rooms, paid by tapping a card. Lough Derg Yacht Club, founded in 1835, can sometimes fit in visiting cruisers on a first-come basis (ask the club office), and Shannon Sailing's private marina west of the village has around 80 berths, a workshop, a chandlery and a diesel pump. Ashore are a ruined tower house, a beach, The Whiskey Still pub and restaurant and a guest house by the harbour, but the village shop opens irregularly and sells little more than drinks and ice cream, so stock up in Nenagh. The RNLI's Lough Derg lifeboat is based here.
